Lak Muang
Lak Muang is the shrine of the city pillar, which represents the founding of Bangkok city. The pillar, made from laburnam wood is 187 inches long, with 79 inches buried beneath the ground. Inside is the birth certificate of the city. The shrine is located in the South Eastern corner of Sanam Luang, although was originally in the South Western corner. It is just accross the road from Wat Phra Kaew.
