Wat Mahathat
Wat Mahathat is located just off Sanam Luang, a short walk north of the Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. The temple is one of South East Asia's most important centres of Buddhist learning, with a university in its grounds - Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University an institute for Buddhist monks. The full name of the temple now is Wat Mahathat Yuwarajarangsarit Rajaworamahavihara.
