Hua Hin is located just around a 2 1/2 hour drive south of Bangkok, so road transport is popular - often via air conditioned bus to Hua Hin Bus Station.Hua Hin By Train
A popular alternative to the bus is to take the train, conventionally to the famous Hua Hin train station, a popular landmark and tourist attraction as it is. Trains regularly leave Bangkok's Hua Lampong Train Station connecting in around 4 hours with a very pleasant scenic journey in between.Hua Hin By Air
Although Hua Hin boasts an 'international' airport, it isn't currently serviced by regular flights. The short 45 minute hop from Bangkok is manageable by charter flight.When in the city, the easiest forms of transport are either the Songthaews (Red Cars), or the Tuktuks. Songthaews litterally means 2 benches, and is a popular, cheap form of transport where you sit on benches in the back of an enclosed pickup. Tuktuks are smaller, just a 3 wheeled vehicle. While Songthaews generally follow a fixed (incomprehensible!) route, tuktuks will take you right where you want to go. Most tuktuk drivers are very friendly, so don't take offence when one offers to give you a ride - they are also open to negotiations on the price! There is also a taxi service - but when in Rome....
