Getting to Pai

Pai is located high in the mountain range that separates Chiang Mai from Myanmar, and is a key stopping point in between Mae Hong Son and Chiang Mai. The easiest way to access it is by plane, with flights connecting the small Pai Airport with Chiang Mai International Airport. While the flight offers excellent views, part of the fun of visiting Pai is the road trip to get there, so the purists will drive or ride their bikes to Pai by Road. Of course the trip is tiring, so the air conditioned bus between Chiang Mai Bus Station and Pai Bus Station takes the hassle out of the driving while leaving you to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The journey of course continues to Mae Hong Son through even more mountains.
